Member for Finniss, Michael Pengilly has again raised the issue of the lack of flow in Deep Creek due to the close proximity of the pine plantations. Michael Pengilly says” despite the Natural Resource Committee of Parliament producing two reports on the matter and lengthy discussions in State Parliament, there has still been no action to remove trees close to the Creek to allow for environmental flows.” “Land owners are increasingly concerned and aggravated that no action has taken place and that there does not seem to be the will to fix the matter by Government Departments.” Does this mean yet another enquiry will have to be undertaken? Mr Pengilly calls on the new Environment Minister, Paul Caica to pick up on the issue and to get some positive action.
